Our Mayfair Sign is made from 1cm thick honed slate that has been machined on the surface leaving a completely smooth, matt surface with natural colour variations. The street name is laser etched into the surface of the slate and finally the number is laser cut from matt gold or silver acrylic and bonded to the slate surface using professional sign making techniques.
Honed Slate: The Honing process massively enhances the shade variations which naturally occur within the slate, sometimes leaving very plain tiles and on other occasions creating swirling clouds within individual pieces. With a calibrated underside giving a consistent 10mm thickness, and a straight cut edge for a sleek contemporary feel.
